I long for you. I long for you in the sweet absence of your breath. I crave the touch of your lips against my skin, your whispered kisses against my neck, the way you gaze so deeply into my eyes. I ache for the temple of your body that I can worship again and again and again. The safety of your arms and the deep soulful peace I find in the sweet union of our bodies. Tonight as I lament your absence, I turn my attention to God.
“Don’t surrender your loneliness so quickly.
let it cut more deep.
Let it ferment and season you
as few human or even divine ingredients can.
Something missing in my heart tonight
has made my eyes so soft
my voice so tender
my need of god
Thank you for teaching me how to go deeper.
